My path to the Gold Award
Hello! My name is Hannah but if you're a girl scout in Kentuckian you may know me as Clifford., and I'm a proud Girl Scout. Throughout my years in Girl Scouts, I've had incredible experiences that have shaped who I am today. From camping trips to community service, getting to visit 2 of the world WAGGGS centers, being a camp counselor at the camp I grew up at, and make some of my best friends. Each adventure has taught me valuable lessons about leadership, courage, teamwork, and making a difference. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, recognizing girls who demonstrate extraordinary leadership through a sustainable and impactful projects. This award is not just about completing a task; it's about identifying a need in the community, developing a solution, and creating a lasting legacy. It must have a lasting impact, bring our community together, and help support our community.
Why Traveling Teddys?
The Traveling Teddys project is my Gold Award endeavor, born from a desire to connect Girl Scouts across different areas and highlight the incredible work they do along with what it's like being a girl scout in different areas. I wanted to create something that would not only be fun and engaging but also foster a sense of unity and shared purpose. This project allows Girl Scouts to track a teddy bear as it travels to various Girl Scout areas, sharing photos and stories of its adventures. It's a way to visually demonstrate the vast network of Girl Scouts and the diverse experiences within our organization. This project is important to me because it embodies the spirit of Girl Scouting – friendship, community, and making the world a better place.
Inspiring future leaders
Through Traveling Teddys, I hope to encourage other Girl Scouts to pursue their own Gold Award dreams. This project demonstrates that with dedication and creativity, anything is possible. I also aim to gather support for the Girl Scouts of the USA, showcasing the positive impact we have on young girls' lives. By understanding the effort and passion behind a Gold Award project, I hope visitors will see the value in supporting Girl Scouts and recognize the importance of empowering girls to become leaders.
